in august 2002 melanie & i drove from boston to halifax to meet up
with her twin sister, kate. we switched cars & together headed out in kate's 'bluequest' minivan with her two small daughters, leah & holly.
we drove down through mainland nova scotia and cape breton, making for the sydney - port aux basques ferry. the final stretch of our journey took us across island newfoundland towards st john's.
melanie & katie grew up in newfoundland, melanie thinks that nowhere
else in the world is as beautiful as that island.
this picture is somewhere out towards the west coast on the trans-canada highway.
