Kerry Larkin has a Bachelor of Architecture degree in Penn State University. From there she went on to study at Auburn University's Rural Studio in Newbern, Alabama.
While studying under the program's founder, Samuel Mockbee, she and six students from universities around the world, designed and built The Lucy House (the carpet house), for Lucy and Anderson Harris and their 4 children.
While in Alabama she renovated a loft apartment and opened a yoga studio in Greensboro. She was also part of Beacon Street Studios, an arts collaborative in rural Alabama, where she has exhibited work for several shows. She has collaborated with photographer and artist Cynthia Connolly on projects that were exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Washington D.C. and in Pensacola, FL.
Inspired by the culture of Alabama, her recent projects include experiments with textiles and narratives.
Kerry currently teaches 9th and 10th grade design at the Charter High School of Architecture and Design in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is the first high school to be sponsored by the American Institute of Architects.
