Harrison Haynes by Dan Monick
After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1996, Harrison Haynes returned to his birthplace, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and began making paintings based on photographs he had taken as a child. As the drummer for the RISD founded rock band, Les Savy Fav, Haynes moved to New York City in 1999, and in 2003 self-published a collection of drawings titled Owl Gaol. His work has been exhibited in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Bologna, and Beijing. He lives in Carrboro, NC, where he is represented by Branch Gallery.
