Alongside new work, the exhibition will incorporate 20 illustrations produced for The Wire.
As resident illustrator/cartoonist for The Wire, the illustrations Savage Pencil produces for the magazine's Primer
features are intended to reflect the overall theme of the musician/group/musical genre that is being discussed.
Using a technique he calls ink collage, photocopied images from various sources are assembled on a sheet of paper which is
then photocopied on to a single sheet. This image is then inked on high grade tracing paper so that the collage becomes a
complete drawing. |
